# How to uninstall OptiMonk from my site Canonical URL: https://support.optimonk.com/en/articles/how-to-uninstall-optimonk-from-my-site We are really sorry that you have decided to uninstall OptiMonk, but of course we are here to help. If you have run into any difficulty, please contact us first — we will do our best to sort it out. **If you only want your campaigns to stop for a while,** you do not have to uninstall anything: open **Campaigns** in the left menu and switch the campaign from **Active** to **Inactive**. The code can stay on your site. The steps to uninstall depend on how you installed OptiMonk in the first place. There are two ways: 1. with an application, or 2. by inserting the JavaScript code on your site. --- ## OptiMonk is installed as an application We have a direct integration — an app — for Shoprenter, Shopify, WordPress and Magento. If you installed OptiMonk through one of these, you uninstall it by removing the app. ### Shopify 1. Log in to the admin page of your Shopify website, then select **Settings** on the left. 2. Look for **Apps and sales channels** on the left. 3. Look for **OptiMonk: Popup, CRO, A/B Test**, move the cursor over it and click **Uninstall**. 4. You can optionally provide your reason for uninstalling, then click **Uninstall**. ### Wordpress Log in to the admin page of your WordPress site, then select **Installed Plugins** under **Plugins**. Look for **Deactivate** next to **OptiMonk** in the plugin list. Once deactivated, you will have the option to **Delete** the plugin. ### Magento 1. Log in to the admin page of your Magento site, select **System** on the left, then **Web Setup Wizard**. 2. Select **Module Manager** on the next page. 3. Look for **OptiMonk**, click **Select**, then **Disable**. 4. Click **Start Readiness Check**. 5. Click **Next** once the check is done. 6. Click **Create Backup**, then **Next** once the backup is ready. 7. Click **Disable** on the next screen. ### Shoprenter Log in to the admin page of your Shoprenter website, click **Alkalmazások (Apps)** and look for OptiMonk among **Telepített Alkalmazások (Installed Apps)**. Click the bin icon next to OptiMonk. --- ## OptiMonk is installed with the JavaScript code If you installed OptiMonk by pasting the snippet, you only have to take that snippet off your site. Here is how to look up exactly what to remove. 1. Log in to OptiMonk, open **Settings** and go to the **Domains** tab. (The same page opens from the domain switcher in the left sidebar, with **Domain settings** or **Install snippet**.) 2. Click the domain row to open it. A domain with the code on it shows **Code inserted** and the platform it was installed with. Click **Change platform**. 3. Under **Connect your website** → *What e-commerce platform do you use?* choose **Custom website**. The snippet shown there is exactly the code that is on your site — this is what you need to remove. 4. Go to your site and delete that snippet from the `` section of your pages. If you installed it through a tag manager, remove the tag there instead and publish the container. 5. Back in OptiMonk, click **Check now**. Once the code is gone you get *We looked at your-domain.com and could not find the OptiMonk code yet.* — for an uninstall, that message is the confirmation you are looking for. --- ## Removing the domain from your account Once the code is off your site, you can take the domain off your account as well: in **Settings → Domains**, click the bin icon on the domain row. OptiMonk warns you first if campaigns are using it — *1 campaign uses your-domain.com. Removing it switches that campaign off and clears its domain — it needs a new domain before it can run again.* Removing the domain does not delete those campaigns, but each one needs a domain again before it can run.
