# Install OptiMonk on your site Canonical URL: https://support.optimonk.com/en/articles/install-optimonk-on-your-site OptiMonk needs one small piece of code on your site to show popups. How it gets there depends on your platform, and the **Connection guide** on your domain's row walks you through the right way. **What to do** - **Custom website:** in the Connection guide choose **Custom website**, click **Copy code**, and paste the snippet into the `` of every page. If someone else manages your site, use **Send the instructions to my developer** and they get everything by email. - **Shopify:** install the OptiMonk app from the Shopify App Store, then in your theme editor open the **App embeds** tab, switch **OptiMonk** on and click **Save**. Both parts are needed. If you change your theme later, switch the app embed on again. - **WordPress:** install and activate the OptiMonk plugin, then paste your OptiMonk ID under **Appearance → OptiMonk** and click **Save Changes**. If you use a cache plugin, add `onsite.optimonk.com` and `front.optimonk.com` to its ignore list. - Back in OptiMonk, click **Check now** at the bottom of the Connection guide. The check loads your site once and looks for the code; it does not need visitors. **Done when:** the check says "The OptiMonk code is live on your-domain.com." and the domain row switches to **Code inserted**. If it says the code could not be found yet, save your changes on the site, make sure the page is publicly reachable, and check again.
