# Integrating OptiMonk campaigns with CleverReach

The [CleverReach](http://www.cleverreach.com) integration with [OptiMonk](https://www.optimonk.com/) adds subscribers to your CleverReach group when they fill out an OptiMonk popup form. It comes in handy if you run marketing campaigns regularly: everyone who signs up through a popup also gets the news about your upcoming promotions and events.

**Before you start:** you need a CleverReach account, and an OptiMonk campaign whose popup is already built — the field mapping is read from the input fields of your popup.

You no longer have to create an API key in CleverReach. In the new OptiMonk app you connect CleverReach by authorizing OptiMonk in your CleverReach account, so the *Account → Extras → API* steps of the old guide are not needed anymore.

## Connect CleverReach to your campaign

1. Open **Campaigns** in the left menu and click the campaign you want to connect with CleverReach.
2. Open the **Integrations** tab of the campaign.
3. Click **Add integration**. If this is your first one, the same step is offered as *Connect your email or SMS tool*.
4. **Provider** step: pick **CleverReach V2** from the provider list. It sits under *All providers* — type `clever` into the *Search providers…* box to jump to it. Accounts you have already connected are listed at the top, under *Your connected accounts*.
5. **Account** step: choose a CleverReach account you have already connected, or click **Connect a new account**. For a new one you only get a button: **Continue with CleverReach V2**. *You'll be redirected to CleverReach V2 to authorize OptiMonk, then brought back here to finish the setup.* Log in to CleverReach if you are not logged in yet, and allow OptiMonk to read your groups and forms.
6. **Settings** step: this is where you choose the group and the opt-in behaviour (see the next two sections), then click **Continue**.
7. **Field mapping** step: decide where each popup field goes in CleverReach, then click **Save integration**.

That's it. Whenever a visitor signs up through your popup, they are added to the CleverReach group you picked.

**Draft vs. live:** if the campaign has not been published yet, the integration is shown with a **Draft** pill and the note *Saved as draft — it goes live when you publish the campaign.* On a published campaign it is applied right away and shows as **Active**.

## Choosing the group

CleverReach calls its lists **groups**, so the first selector on the Settings step is **Group**. Pick the group new subscribers should be added to. The list comes straight from your CleverReach account, so if you miss one, create it in CleverReach first and reopen the step.

## Double opt-in

If you only want subscribers with a confirmed email address in your CleverReach system, turn on double opt-in here — there are two fields for it, both optional:

- **Opt-in mode (optional)** — leave it empty for single opt-in. Select **Double opt-in (send confirmation email — requires a form)** to have CleverReach create the subscriber as inactive and send a confirmation email.
- **Double opt-in form (optional)** — the CleverReach form that sends that confirmation email. The list loads after you have picked a group, and it should be the form you have already set up on the CleverReach side.

If you switch the opt-in mode on, pick a form as well: without one there is no confirmation email to send.

## Field mapping

The mapping table has two columns: **Popup field** on the left (every input your popup collects) and **CleverReach V2 field** on the right. OptiMonk pre-fills the mapping with its own suggestions, so in most cases you only need to check it.

- The **email** field is fixed — it always maps to CleverReach's `email`.
- Pick **Don't sync** for any popup field you don't want to send.
- Under **Static fields** you can send a fixed value with every submission — click **Add static field**, type the value on the left (for example `OptiMonk Summer Campaign`) and choose the CleverReach field on the right. This is the easiest way to tell later where a subscriber came from.

## Change or remove the integration

The Integrations tab lists every integration on the campaign, with the provider name and the settings you chose.

- **Change list** reopens the wizard, so you can pick another group, change the opt-in mode or edit the mapping.
- The **trash icon** takes the integration off this campaign: *Remove from this campaign? The account connection stays and can be added again.* Your CleverReach connection is not deleted, so you can reuse it on another campaign.
