# Integrating OptiMonk campaigns with GetResponse

The [GetResponse](https://www.getresponse.com/) integration with [OptiMonk](https://www.optimonk.com/) adds subscribers to your GetResponse list when they fill out an OptiMonk popup form. It comes in handy if you run marketing campaigns regularly: everyone who signs up through a popup also gets the news about your upcoming promotions.

**Before you start:** you need a GetResponse account, and an OptiMonk campaign whose popup is already built — the field mapping is read from the input fields of your popup.

## Connect GetResponse to your campaign

1. Open **Campaigns** in the left menu and click the campaign you want to connect with GetResponse.
2. Open the **Integrations** tab of the campaign.
3. Click **Add integration**. If this is your first one, the same step is offered as *Connect your email or SMS tool*.
4. **Provider** step: pick **GetResponse** from the provider list. It sits under *All providers* — type `get` into the *Search providers…* box to jump to it. Accounts you have already connected are listed at the top, under *Your connected accounts*.
5. **Account** step: choose a GetResponse account you have already connected, or click **Connect a new account** and fill in the credential form:

- **API key** — see the next section for how to get it. The form also shows the hint *Account Details -> API & OAuth: You can obtain the key from the My GetResponse API key section.*
- **Name (optional)** — a name for this connection, so you recognise it later (for example *GetResponse – main account*).

Click **Connect**. OptiMonk checks the key right away; if it is wrong you get *Connection failed — check the credentials*.
6. **Settings** step: pick your list under **Campaign (list)**, then click **Continue**. GetResponse calls its lists *campaigns*, which is why the selector is named like that — it has nothing to do with your OptiMonk campaign.
7. **Field mapping** step: decide where each popup field goes in GetResponse, then click **Save integration**.

That's it. Whenever a visitor signs up through your popup, they are added to the GetResponse list you picked.

**Draft vs. live:** if the campaign has not been published yet, the integration is shown with a **Draft** pill and the note *Saved as draft — it goes live when you publish the campaign.* On a published campaign it is applied right away and shows as **Active**.

## How to get your GetResponse API key

1. Log in to your GetResponse account, click the menu icon in the top left, and select **Integrations and API**.
2. Select the **API** menu and click **Generate API key**.
3. Give the key a name that helps you identify it, then click **Generate**.
4. **Copy** the generated key and paste it into the **API key** field in OptiMonk, then click **Connect**.

## Field mapping

The mapping table has two columns: **Popup field** on the left (every input your popup collects) and **GetResponse field** on the right. OptiMonk pre-fills the mapping with its own suggestions, so in most cases you only need to check it.

- The **email** field is fixed — it always maps to GetResponse's `email`.
- Pick **Don't sync** for any popup field you don't want to send.
- Under **Static fields** you can send a fixed value with every submission — click **Add static field**, type the value on the left (for example `OptiMonk Summer Campaign`) and choose the GetResponse field on the right. This is the easiest way to tell later where a subscriber came from.

## Change or remove the integration

The Integrations tab lists every integration on the campaign, with the provider name and the list you chose.

- **Change list** reopens the wizard, so you can pick another GetResponse list or edit the mapping.
- The **trash icon** takes the integration off this campaign: *Remove from this campaign? The account connection stays and can be added again.* Your API key is not deleted, so you can reuse the connection on another campaign.
