# Integrating OptiMonk campaigns with SMSBump

Connecting [SMSBump](https://smsbump.com) to your OptiMonk campaigns means the phone numbers your popups collect become SMSBump subscribers, so you can reach them with text messages about your promotions and news. SMSBump is a Shopify app, so this integration is only available for Shopify stores.

**Where this is set up.** SMSBump is tied to your Shopify store, and store-bound integrations cannot be newly connected from the new campaign builder's provider list. You connect and authorize the SMSBump account **once in the classic admin**; after that the connection is available to campaigns you build here, under *Your connected accounts*, where you bind the phone field.

**Before you start:**

- SMSBump has to be installed in your Shopify store.
- Your campaign's popup has to be built **and it has to collect a phone number** — the field mapping is read from the input fields of your popup. If your popup doesn't have one yet, ask the agent in the design chat for it (*"add a phone number field"*) and let the popup rebuild.

---

## Step 1 — Connect and authorize SMSBump in the classic admin

1. In OptiMonk, click your name at the bottom of the left-hand menu and choose **Go to classic admin**. You are signed in there with the same account.
2. Open a campaign and click **Edit settings**.
3. Click **Add new integration** under **Add integration**.
4. Select **SMSBump** from the list.
5. Give a name to your integration and click **Authenticate**.
6. You are redirected to SMSBump and have to log in to your account. Then you have to give OptiMonk permission to make requests to the SMSBump API on your behalf — click **Yes**.

The account connection is now stored on your OptiMonk account.

## Step 2 — Bind the fields on a campaign built in the new app

1. Open **Campaigns** in the left menu and click your campaign.
2. Open the **Integrations** tab and click **Add integration**.
3. In the **Provider** step, look under **Your connected accounts** — your SMSBump connection is listed there, under the name you gave it. Click it. (SMSBump is not in the provider grid below; that grid only holds providers you can connect from here.)
4. In the **Field mapping** step, bind each popup field to an SMSBump field, then click **Save integration**.

SMSBump can only receive these fields:

- **Phone number** — this is the one that matters: pick your popup's phone field on the left and map it to SMSBump's `phone` field.
- **Name** — first name and/or last name, if your popup collects them.
- **Email address** — if your popup collects it.

Everything you don't want to forward stays on **Don't sync**. SMSBump does not accept fixed values, so the **Static fields** block is not offered for this provider.

**Draft vs. live:** if the campaign has not been published yet, the integration shows a **Draft** pill and the note *Saved as draft — it goes live when you publish the campaign.* On a published campaign it is applied right away and shows as **Active**.

## Check your subscribers in SMSBump

1. Log into your Shopify account.
2. Click **Apps**.
3. Select **SMSBump** from the list of installed apps.
4. In SMSBump, select **Lists & Segments** on the left.
5. When you integrated OptiMonk with SMSBump, a list called **Text Marketing List** was auto-generated. That is where the subscribers from your OptiMonk campaign appear — click **View** to check them.

---

## Check that leads actually arrive

You can also check this without leaving OptiMonk. Open **Leads** in the left menu: every submission has a **Sync status** column. **Synced** means the subscriber reached SMSBump; **Integration issue** means the forwarding failed. Click the row for the reason (*Account issue*, *Field mapping issue*, *Invalid phone number*, *Already unsubscribed*…) and press **Retry** once you fixed the settings.
