# Integrating OptiMonk with BigCommerce e-commerce platform

[OptiMonk](https://www.optimonk.com/) makes it easy to improve your results on the [BigCommerce](https://www.bigcommerce.com/) platform. All it takes is adding the OptiMonk JavaScript code to your store through BigCommerce's Script Manager. This guide walks you through it — you'll be set up in a few minutes and can start creating and optimizing your campaigns.

*In order to display your campaigns first you will need to integrate OptiMonk with your BigCommerce e-commerce platform.*

## Step 1 — Get your unique JavaScript code from OptiMonk

1. Log in to OptiMonk, open **Settings** and go to the **Domains** tab. (The same page opens from the domain switcher in the left sidebar, with **Domain settings** or **Install snippet**.)
2. If your store's domain is not on the list yet, click **Add domain**, type it in (*Type a new domain, e.g. example.com*) and click **Add**.
3. Click the domain row to open it, then click **Connection guide**. Under **Connect your website** → *What e-commerce platform do you use?* choose **Bigcommerce**.

(If OptiMonk already recognised your store it says so — *We recognized your platform: Bigcommerce* — and lists **What you'll do**, the two steps below.)
4. Step 1 of the guide, **Get your unique JavaScript code from OptiMonk**, shows your snippet: *To install OptiMonk, you need to copy and add the following OptiMonk JavaScript code to your BigCommerce website.* Click **Copy code**.

**Prefer a tag manager?** Google Tag Manager is offered as a separate option in the same picker, under *or install with Google Tag Manager* — see How to install OptiMonk Code via Google Tag Manager?. Installing directly through BigCommerce is the recommended route.

## Step 2 — Add our code to your BigCommerce e-commerce website

Step 2 of the guide walks you through this with screenshots. The steps are here too:

1. Open a new webpage and log in to the admin page of your BigCommerce website.
2. Select **Storefront** on the left.
3. Next, select **Script Manager**.
4. Click on **Create a Script**.
5. On the next page give a name to your Script.
6. Then select the following options:

- Location on page: **Header**
- Select pages where script will be added: **All pages**
- Script category: **Essential**
- Script type: **Script**
7. The last step is to paste the code you copied from OptiMonk.
8. Click **Save** in the bottom right corner to save the new Script.
9. You should see a message **Script created**, and you can find the new Script under **Installed Scripts**.

## Step 3 — Check that the code is live

Back in OptiMonk, click **Check now** at the bottom of the guide. When everything is in place you get *The OptiMonk code is live on your-domain.com.*, and the domain row in **Settings → Domains** switches to **Code inserted**.

If it says *We looked at your-domain.com and could not find the OptiMonk code yet…*, make sure you saved the script and that the page is publicly reachable, then click **Check again**.

*Checking loads your site once and looks for the code — it does not need visitors.*
