# MailWizz integration Canonical URL: https://support.optimonk.com/en/articles/mailwizz-integration MailWizz is a self-hosted email marketing software, and it is simple to connect to an OptiMonk campaign. Once you are done, everyone who fills out your popup form is added to the MailWizz list you picked — no exports, no copy-paste. **Before you start:** you need a campaign in OptiMonk (the popup has to be built, because the field mapping is read from the input fields of your popup) and a MailWizz account you can log in to. --- ## Connect MailWizz to your campaign 1. Open **Campaigns** in the left menu and click the campaign you want to connect with MailWizz. 2. Open the **Integrations** tab of the campaign. 3. Click **Add integration**. If this is your first one, the same step is offered as *Connect your email or SMS tool*. 4. **Provider** step: pick **MailWizz** from the provider list. If the list is long, type into the *Search providers…* box. Accounts you have already connected are listed at the top, under *Your connected accounts* — pick one of those and you skip straight to the settings. 5. **Account** step: fill in the credential form. You can also give the connection a name (**Name (optional)**) so you recognise it later. The three credentials come from your MailWizz account — see the next section for how to find them. When they are in, click **Connect**. 6. **Settings** step: pick the **List** your new subscribers should join, and decide whether to switch on **Update existing contacts**. Then click **Continue**. - With the toggle **off**, only new contacts are created in MailWizz. - With the toggle **on**, a contact who is already subscribed to that list is updated with the data from the new submission instead. 7. **Field mapping** step: decide where each popup field goes in MailWizz (see below), then click **Save integration**. That's it. Whenever a visitor signs up through your popup, they are added to the MailWizz list you picked. **Draft vs. live:** if the campaign has not been published yet, the integration is shown with a **Draft** pill and the note *Saved as draft — it goes live when you publish the campaign.* On a published campaign the integration is applied right away and shows as **Active**. --- ## Where to find the MailWizz credentials Log in to your MailWizz dashboard in a new browser window and open **API keys** in the left sidebar menu. - **API URL** — *To locate your API URL: Login to your MailWizz dashboard. Click on API keys in the left sidebar menu and then click on the Info button in the top right corner to retrieve your API URL.* - **Public key** and **Private key** — *Click on API keys in the left sidebar menu and then choose Create New to generate a key for OptiMonk.* Give the key a name, click **Save**, then copy both values into OptiMonk. --- ## Field mapping The mapping table has two columns: **Popup field** on the left (every input your popup collects) and **MailWizz field** on the right. OptiMonk pre-fills the mapping with its own suggestions, so in most cases you only need to check it. - The **email** field is fixed — it always maps to MailWizz's `email`. - Pick **Don't sync** for any popup field you don't want to send. - Under **Static fields** you can send a fixed value with every submission (for example a campaign name). Click **Add static field**, type the value on the left, and choose the MailWizz field on the right. Only the input fields that are actually on your popup appear on the left. If you want to collect something new — a phone number, a name, a dropdown — you don't insert an element by hand: describe it to the AI on the popup (for example *"add a phone number field under the email input"*) and it rebuilds the popup with that field. Larger structural changes like this run as a **Major rebuild (render + check)** and take about 1–3 minutes; once the new build is there, come back to the Integrations tab and click **Edit mapping** to send the new field to MailWizz. In MailWizz, each list has its own custom fields. To add a new field there, log in as a customer to your MailWizz account, go to your email lists, click on the list name, and on the list overview page open the **Custom Fields** box. --- ## Change or remove the integration The Integrations tab lists every integration on the campaign with its list name. - **Change list** / **Edit mapping** reopens the wizard at that step. - **Remove** takes the integration off this campaign: *Remove from this campaign? The account connection stays and can be added again.* Your MailWizz credentials are not deleted, so you can reuse them on another campaign.
