# Decide who sees it and when, then build it

Before anything is built, a short setup asks you where and when the popup should show. Nothing here costs a build; you can change your mind at every step.

**What to do**

- Click **Next: targeting**. The steps across the top are **Design → Targeting → Review → Build it**, with **Coupon** or **Prizes** added only when your design needs them.

- On the targeting step you get three cards:

- **When will the popup show up:** the trigger. A good first choice is **On exit-intent** on desktop, or **After a delay** of a few seconds on mobile.

- **Who should see the popup:** leave it empty to show the popup to everyone, or add a **Current page / URL** rule to limit it to certain pages.

- **How often can it appear:** the defaults (once per visitor, and stop after they convert) are sensible for a first campaign.

- Review the summary and click **Build it**. The build takes about three minutes and you can leave the page; OptiMonk emails you when it is ready.

**Done when:** the campaign page says "Your campaign is ready" and the status is no longer **Under construction**. The campaign is not switched on yet; that is step 7.
