Why does my Recart campaign have e-mail input but not a Messenger button?

The reason behind the issue is that by using Recart, you are able to activate Smart display here:

Smart display makes it possible that once the visitor is not logged in to his/her Messenger account, then he/she will be asked to subscribe to the newsletter instead. However, if the Smart Display is off, then the visitors will be advised to login to Messenger to be able to sign up via popup.

Just to illustrate how this setting changes what your visitors will see on the popup:
