Shoprenter: Displaying popup only on specific pages - Current page rule

The “Current Page / URL” Campaign rule is perfect if you want to show the campaign only to those visitors who are browsing (or not browsing) a specific page on your site currently.

You can set it up with the following steps for a Shoprenter website:

1) Log in to your OptiMonk account at https://app.optimonk.com/login/en

2) Select Campaigns on the left:

I.) Page type setting

In case you have a Shoprenter website, you will have the option to click on the drop-down "pages" to select what kind of pages you want to use for this Campaign rule. You have the following options:

OptiMonk will automatically detect the structure of your website and distinguish Category and Product pages.

  1. If you set it to the "pages" setting, it means that the Campaign rule will use every page of your website:
    mceclip2.png
  2. If you select the "category pages" setting, the Campaign will show up on every category page of our website. If you want to narrow down the pages where the Campaign shows up, click on the Add conditions button:
    mceclip3.png
These are the additional conditions you can set up:
    mceclip4.png
You can modify the categories on the admin page of your Shoprenter website. OptiMonk will use the same settings you have set there.

  3. The "product pages" setting works similarly. If you click on the Add conditions button, will have further options to specify where you want the Campaign to show up based on product details:

Similar to the categories, you can edit the product details on the admin page of your Shoprenter website. OptiMonk will use the settings you have set up on the admin page of your Shoprenter site.

II.) Setting up a Condition

If you click on the drop-down menu "equals", you will see the available options you can use for your Campaign rule:

You will find a couple of examples below to help you understand how the settings work.

III.) Define the Variable

In addition to the Page type and Condition, we can also define a Variable:

mceclip7.png

The Current Page / URL setting will check your website's pages for the Variable, depending on the Condition and the Page type setting you have used.

Examples for setting the Condition and the Variable:

If you only want to show the Campaign on one specific page, choose "Pages" for the Page type, select the "Equals" option for the Condition, and then insert the URL of the page as Variable. In this example, the Campaign will only show up on the following page:
optitest123.shoprenter.hu/smartphones/type_452_black

mceclip0.png

Similarly, you can set up the Campaign to only show up on your main page:

If you want to make sure that the Campaign will not show up on your main page, change the Condition to Doesn't equal:

mceclip2.png

You can also set up a rule so that the Campaign will only show up when the visitor is browsing in a specific product category. There are multiple ways to set this up. For example, you can use "pages" with "contains". In this example, I will define the Variable as "accessories", which means the Campaign will show up on all the pages of my website where the URL contains the phrase "accessories":

You can use the category pages setting to a similar effect:

mceclip4.png

You can use the "doesn't contain" setting to exclude certain pages from the Campaign. In this example, the Campaign will not show up on Product pages where the Product name contains the phrase "smartphone":

mceclip5.png

IV.) Add a new Campaign rule with "AND" relation

We can set up multiple rules for the Current Page / URL with "AND" or "OR" relationship. You can add another rule with "AND" relation by clicking on the Add sign:

mceclip6.png

Here is an example for the "AND" relation:

mceclip8.png

In this example, the Campaign will show up on pages where the Product name Contains the phrase "smartphone", and the Product price is less than 399. As you can see, the "AND" relation means that all rule conditions have to be met at the same time.

V.) Add a new Campaign rule with "OR" relation

You can also add another rule with "OR" relation. In this case, the Campaign will show up when at least one of the conditions is met. Click on Add new to add a new rule with "OR" relation:

mceclip9.png

Here is an example of how the "OR" relation works:

mceclip10.png

In this example, the Campaign will show up on pages where the Product name contains the phrase "smartphone" or contains the phrase "smartwatch".

Rule out pages from the Campaign

If you want to rule out certain pages from the Campaign, you could use the "doesn't contain" setting. Here is an example:

mceclip11.png

Here I have set the Campaign to not show up on pages where the URL contains the phrase "blog". Using similar settings, you can exclude any page from your Campaign.

7) Click on Save then Next in the top right corner to save your settings:
