OptiMonk AI is an advanced, AI-powered conversion rate optimization (CRO) platform that automates A/B testing and 1-to-1 personalization to help you maximize website conversions — without the need for a dedicated CRO team.

What you can optimize

Smart Product Page Optimizer

The Smart Product Page Optimizer enhances your product pages with AI-powered, personalized, benefit-driven copy at scale.

It automatically:

  • Generates optimized product copy (e.g., taglines, benefit lists, summaries).

  • Runs A/B tests to identify which versions perform best with your visitors.

  • Continuously updates your product pages with the highest-converting versions.

This process eliminates manual editing and automatically optimizes thousands of product pages, ensuring every visitor sees your most persuasive message.

Smart Recommender

The Smart Recommender drives product discovery by automatically promoting the most relevant products to each visitor.

Using your existing product data (such as names, descriptions, and categories) it identifies similar items and recommends them dynamically on your product pages. The result is a personalized shopping experience that increases cross-selling opportunities and average order value.

Before you begin

OptiMonk AI’s setup process is simple, strategic, and scalable. Here’s how to get started:

Your journey begins with a personalized demo. If it’s a fit, you’ll connect with OptiMonk’s CRO experts, who will:

  1. Assess your current product pages and business goals.

  2. Define the right messaging strategy for your brand.

  3. Demonstrate how OptiMonk (including the AI products) works in your specific store setup.

Step 2: Accept the solution plan & Review AI-generated content

If we choose to move forward, we’ll handle the entire setup process for you from integration to content generation.

Based on your approved strategy, the AI will generate product headlines, summaries, and benefit lists across your catalog.

You’ll have full control to review, refine, and adjust the copy before it goes live, whether that means tweaking the tone, shortening the message, or aligning it more closely with your voice.

Once your optimizer is live, you can log in to the OptiMonk platform to:

  • Test new optimization ideas

  • Generate fresh AI-powered product copy

  • Manage or update your A/B testing campaigns in the Dynamic Editor (don’t worry, no coding required!)

Note: this is only available currently, if you’re site runs on the following platform: Shopify, Wordpress/Woocommerce, Gomag, Merchantpro, Shoprenter, Unas. In any other cases, you will not be able to modify your AI campaigns on your own, only with the help of your dedicated Key Account Manager.

If you’re campaigns are set up and running, but you would like to add your own ideas to test, these are the crucial pages you will need:

Generating the AI variables

AI Product Tags help you enhance your product pages and popups with AI-generated copy.

On product pages, AI-generated headlines, subheadlines, and benefit lists are primarily used. AI also creates headlines for AI-based recommender campaigns.

The AI Product Tags page allows you to create, edit, and review these automatically generated texts.

Here’s how you can edit the AI Product tags in OptiMonk:

1) Log in to your OptiMonk account at https://app.optimonk.com/

2) Go to Settings by first selecting your account info on the navbar.

3) In the left-hand panel, select AI Product Tags.

4) Choose the domain for which you want to generate AI content.

5) Click Create new to start generating your AI-powered product copy.

6) Select a prompt template to begin. By default, the most commonly used prompts will be displayed.

💡 Tip: If you’d like additional ready-made prompts, contact your dedicated Key Account Manager. They can create and make them available for you directly on this page.

7) After selecting a prompt, click Next.

8) You’ll now see a preview of the AI instruction. Here, you can:

  • Adjust the language of the output

  • Define the tone of voice

  • Set the text length

  • Or simply add custom instructions

9) For full control, open Advanced settings.

10) Here, you can fine-tune how your AI Product Tags are generated:

  1. The AI model: choose the model that generates your copy

  2. Whether to display the output on product pages or popups

  3. Available data sources: select the product data the AI should use. (You can review these in detail under the Product Catalog.)

  4. The recommender mode: choose from modes saved under the AI Recommenders panel

  5. Prompt customization: modify the language, tone, or length, or add specific instructions

  6. Whether the system should auto-generate the prompt variables for every new product. If it’s turned on, we review the product catalog and generate AI copies for every new product every 8 hours.

  7. Product limit: define how many products should be generated automatically. Leave blank to include all products

  8. Minimum description length: set a character limit below which no variables will be generated. This means that if a product description is shorter than this given number, the system will not generate a variable for that product.

💡 Tip: To include a specific part of your data source in the prompt (e.g., ensuring the headline includes the product name), simply click that data source from the list of available options.

11) Click Preview to generate sample outputs for the first 20 products. Review these to assess the prompt’s quality.

You can modify the prompts until you are satisfied, or regenerate the variables using the same prompts by clicking the refresh icon.

Or you can export the results as a CSV file to share with your teammates or your supervisor for review.

12) If you do not wish to start generating yet, you can save your settings by clicking on Save draft.

13) But if you wish to start the generation, click on the Generate button.

14) After generation is complete, the product tag will display a Ready to use status.

15) Finally, please rename your product tag.

16) You will find every generated text for each product listed under the Product Catalog on the left panel.

Generating custom AI recommenders

On this page, you can create and manage custom AI-based recommendation algorithms.

This feature is especially useful if you want to use recommendation logic that’s different from the default “similar products” approach.

Here’s how you can add a new AI recommendation:

1) Log in to your OptiMonk account at https://app.optimonk.com/

2) Go to Settings by first selecting your account info on the navbar.

3) In the left-hand panel, select AI Recommenders.

4) Choose the domain for which you want to generate AI content.

The list will be empty by default because the built-in AI recommender cannot be deleted or edited.

5) To create a new recommendation, click on Create new.

6) Select the categories for which the recommender will generate suggestions. When this algorithm is used, campaigns will only recommend the selected categories. The logic remains “similar products” based on product descriptions.

7) You can also select specific products the recommender will suggest. Click Add product to manually select products.

8) Here, you will find all your products. Click on the product you want to view alongside the one whose recommendation you’re editing. You can also search for products by name or SKU.

9) Select the product and click on Save.

10) Under the Excluded products section, you can remove specific categories or product pages from the recommender.

💡 This is useful if, for example, you want to include an entire category but exclude a few specific items, or if you want your recommender to run everywhere except in one category.

11) Give your new recommender a name.

12) Once you’re done, click on Save.

13) You’ll return to the AI Recommenders page, where you’ll see your newly created recommender.

It will be processed during the next synchronization (syncs occur every 8 hours).

Click the three dots next to a recommender to edit, duplicate, or delete it.

14) Open the Campaigns page and select a campaign that includes a Product Recommender element.

15) Start editing the campaign.

16) In the Product Recommender element settings, open the dropdown menu to view all available algorithms. Your newly created recommender will appear in this list.

How to access and review the AI-generated texts & AI recommenders

If you’ve synced your product catalog with OptiMonk, the Product catalog page gives you detailed insights into each product in your store.

From here, you can view AI-generated content created under the AI Product tag page, manually rewrite product copies, and even override AI-based recommendations created under the AI Recommendations page.

Follow these steps to reach the Product Catalog in your OptiMonk account:

1) Log in to your OptiMonk account at https://app.optimonk.com/

2) Go to Settings by first selecting your account info on the navbar.

3) In the left-hand panel, select Product catalog.

4) Choose the domain for which you would like to view the products.

You’ll only see domains that support product syncing (currently, stores that are running on Shopify, MerchantPro, Gomag, Shoprenter, and Unas).

5) Once you’ve selected a domain, your Product catalog displays all synced products along with their key details and generated content. Products are sorted by pageviews by default.

On this summary page, you will see:

a) Last synchronization date: We only display products that were available in your webshop during synchronization.

b) Search bar: Look up products by name or SKU.

c) Product infos: Name, image, price, SKU, and stock status.

d) AI-generated variables for each product, previously created under the AI Product Tag page.

e) Pageviews per product.

f) Last update date: Data refreshes every 8 hours

6) Next to each AI-generated variable, you’ll see a pencil icon. Click it to open the AI Product tag page, where you can modify the prompt that generates content.

7) If you click on the product name, you will see all the relevant information about the product.

8) On the detailed modal, you will see the following above the general information:

a) the URL of the product (clickable)

b) the categories of the product added in your CMS system

c) the full description of the product

d) the generated AI variables, previously created under the AI Product Tag page

e) the default and the added recommendation logics, previously created under the AI Recommendations page

9) If you’re not fully satisfied with the AI-generated copy, you have two options:

a) You can edit the entire smart product tag, and the changes will apply to all products. In this case, you will be taken to the AI Product tag page.

b) If you would like to rewrite the copy for a specific product while keeping the majority of the generated text, you can manually edit the copy here. In this case, the AI updates will be disabled only for this text. If you only want to adjust one product’s copy, click the edit icon next to it.

After clicking the icon, you only need to update the copy and click Save. Once you rewrite the text, the AI will stop automatically updating that product’s copy.

If, however, you want to undo this and display the AI-generated text after all, click on the bin icon.

10) Below the AI product tags, you’ll find your recommender algorithms.

By default, OptiMonk uses an AI recommender that suggests similar products based on product descriptions.

If you wish to modify the recommended products, click on the product you would like to modify.

You can view all of your products here. Simply click on the product you want to connect with the one you are editing recommendations for. You can also search for products by name or SKU.

11) Above the OptiMonk recommender, you will see all your added recommendations and the products recommended by that algorithm.

If you wish to edit your recommender in general, click Edit recommender, and you will be redirected to the AI Recommenders page.

If you are generally satisfied with the recommender but want to change a specific product, click on the product you wish to modify.

Here, you will find all your products. Click on the product you want to view alongside the one whose recommendation you’re editing. You can also search for products by name or SKU.
