Attentive is a mobile marketing platform that helps you collect and engage subscribers via SMS. Connecting Attentive to an OptiMonk campaign sends every phone number your popup collects straight to Attentive.

Before you begin

Make sure you have:

  • An active Attentive account.

  • An Authorization token from Attentive support.

  • An OptiMonk campaign whose popup is already built and contains a phone number field. The mapping step reads the input fields of the built popup, so there is nothing to map before the build.

Step 1 — Get your Authorization token

Contact Attentive support and ask for an Authorization token. You need it in Step 4.

Step 2 — Open the campaign's Integrations tab

  1. Click Campaigns in the left menu and open the campaign you want to connect.

  2. Switch to the Integrations tab.

  3. Click Add integration. On a campaign with no integration yet the same step is offered as Connect your email or SMS tool.

Step 3 — Pick Attentive

On the Provider step, choose Attentive. It sits in the Popular row; if you don't see it, type into the Search providers… box. Accounts you have connected before are listed above, under Your connected accounts — pick one there to skip the credentials step.

Step 4 — Connect your Attentive account

On the Account step:

  1. Optionally give the connection a name in Name (optional) so you recognise it later — leaving it empty names it Attentive.

  2. Paste the token into Authorization token. The field's own hint says: You could ask the authorization token from Attentive support.

  3. Click Connect.

If the token is wrong you get Connection failed — check the credentials with the reason underneath.

Step 5 — Map the fields

Attentive has no subscriber-list concept in OptiMonk, so the wizard goes straight from Account to Field mapping — the stepper shows three steps (Provider → Account → Field mapping) instead of four.

  • The left column, Popup field, lists the inputs of your built popup.

  • The right column is a free-text box, because Attentive does not return a field list: Type the exact Attentive field or property name (e.g. first_name). Leave empty to skip a field.

  • Leave a row empty to skip that field.

Map your popup's phone field to the phone field identifier Attentive expects, then click Save integration.

This integration only supports phone-type fields, and only US phone numbers (+1) are accepted.

Static fields are not available for Attentive. The Add static field block that other providers show is deliberately hidden for this provider, so you cannot send a fixed value along with each submission.

Draft vs. live

If the campaign has not been published yet, the integration is listed with a Draft pill and the note Saved as draft — it goes live when you publish the campaign. On a published campaign it is applied straight away and shows as Active.

The Sign up source

The classic OptiMonk admin asked for a Sign up source (the ID from the Sign up units tab of your Attentive account) next to the field mapping. The campaign integration wizard in the new app does not have that field. If your Attentive setup needs a specific sign-up source, set the integration up in the classic admin instead: open the account menu in the top right and choose Go to classic admin.

Attentive V2

Attentive V2 cannot be connected here. Its per-campaign Sign up source ID setting is not expressible in the generic wizard, so the provider never appears in the picker — even on accounts that have the Attentive V2 feature enabled. Use the classic admin for Attentive V2.

Change or remove the integration

The Integrations tab lists every integration on the campaign.

  • Edit mapping reopens the wizard on the mapping step.

  • Remove takes it off this campaign: Remove from this campaign? The account connection stays and can be added again. Your Attentive token is not deleted, so the connection stays reusable on other campaigns.
