Never worry about overwhelming your visitors with popups again. OptiMonk has assigned a guardian angel to your campaigns, so you don't have to worry about scaring visitors away with too many messages.
1. What is the User Experience Protector?
The User Experience Protector works like a shield: it lets only as many campaigns reach a visitor as the experience can take. If you run several campaigns at the same time, it makes sure only the most relevant ones are shown, at a sensible pace. As the settings page puts it: Makes sure your popups don't overwhelm or annoy visitors even if you run hundreds of campaigns with the boldest targeting.
Depending on how safe you want to be, the Protector puts a smart cap on the number of campaigns a visitor is shown, and lets the highest-priority campaigns through first.
It is an account-level setting — one choice for every campaign and every domain on the account, not something you set per campaign.

2. Where to find it, and how to change it
The User Experience Protector tab is visible to account owners only — like Usage, Subscription, and Billing. If you were invited to the account as a team member, you won't see it.
Open the account menu at the bottom of the left sidebar and choose Settings.
Open the User Experience Protector tab.
Click the setting you want. There are three:
Setting What it does Safe Optimizes for user experience, compromising on conversions if necessary. Normal The best balance of conversions and user experience. Off Protection is disabled. Your campaigns appear exactly as you set them up.
There is no Save button: the choice is stored as you click it, and the line under the cards says Saving…, then Saved. If it cannot be stored, you get Could not save the setting. — pick the setting again.
What the two protective settings mean in practice: with Normal, a visitor sees at most one OptiMonk campaign per minute, with Safe at most one every two minutes. Off removes the cap, and every campaign appears exactly as its own triggers, targeting rules, and frequency settings say.
💡 If you have several active campaigns, the priority of the campaigns decides which one gets shown first.
3. How to set the priority of a campaign
When the Protector is on, campaigns are let through in priority order. Priority is set per campaign:
Open Campaigns in the left menu and click the campaign.
Open the ⋮ menu in the campaign header and hover over Set priority.
Choose High, Normal, or Low. The current one is ticked; the new one is saved right away.
OptiMonk prioritizes your campaigns relative to each other: a high-priority campaign is shown first, normal ones after it, low-priority ones last. A campaign with no explicit setting counts as Normal.
