TheMarketer is an email marketing & automation platform with a Loyalty & Rewards Program built for eCommerce. By integrating OptiMonk with theMarketer, everyone who fills out your popup form is synced to your theMarketer account automatically — no exports, no copy-paste.

Before you start: you need a theMarketer account and a campaign in OptiMonk whose popup is already built. The field mapping step reads the input fields straight from your popup, so there is nothing to map until the popup exists.

Step 1: Get your theMarketer credentials

  1. Log in to theMarketer and open Settings → Technical Integration.

  2. Copy your REST Key (ID) and your Customer ID from this page. Keep the tab open — you need both values in a minute.

Step 2: Connect theMarketer to your campaign

  1. Open Campaigns in the left menu and click the campaign you want to connect with theMarketer.

  2. Open the Integrations tab of the campaign.

  3. Click Add integration. If the campaign has no integration yet, the same step is offered as Connect your email or SMS tool.

  4. Provider step: type marketer into the Search providers… box and pick theMarketer from the All providers grid. Accounts you have already connected are listed above the grid, under Your connected accounts.

  5. Account step: choose a theMarketer account you have already connected, or fill in the credential form to add a new one.

    • Name (optional) — a label so you recognise this connection later.

    • Paste the REST Key (ID) and the Customer ID you copied in Step 1.

Click Connect. There is no separate "test connection" button: OptiMonk checks the credentials while it saves them, and if they are wrong you get Connection failed — check the credentials right under the form.

  6. Field mapping step: this is the last step — theMarketer has no list to pick, so the wizard goes straight from the account to the mapping. Set the mapping up (see below) and click Save integration.

That's it. Whenever a visitor signs up through your popup, their data is synced to theMarketer.

Draft vs. live: if the campaign has not been published yet, the integration is shown with a Draft pill and the note Saved as draft — it goes live when you publish the campaign. On a published campaign the integration is applied right away and shows as Active.

Field mapping

The mapping table has two columns: Popup field on the left (every input your popup collects) and theMarketer field on the right. OptiMonk pre-fills the mapping with its own suggestions, so in most cases you only need to check it.

  • The email field is fixed — it always maps to email.

  • Pick Don't sync for any popup field you don't want to send.

  • If theMarketer returns its list of properties, the right column is a dropdown. If it doesn't, you get a free-text box instead and the hint Type the exact theMarketer field or property name (e.g. first_name). Leave empty to skip a field.

  • Under Static fields you can send a fixed value with every submission — this is what the old admin called "Custom Values". Click Add static field, type the value on the left (for example Summer popup) and choose the theMarketer field on the right.

Change or remove the integration

The Integrations tab lists every integration on the campaign.

  • Edit mapping reopens the wizard at the mapping step. (Providers with a list get a Change list button here instead — theMarketer has no list, so you go straight to the mapping.)

  • The bin icon removes the integration from this campaign: Remove from this campaign? The account connection stays and can be added again. Your theMarketer credentials are not deleted, so you can reuse the same connection on another campaign.
