There are a few things that can quietly stop a campaign from doing its job: the OptiMonk code disappears from your site, the campaign is switched on but has not reached your visitors yet, or the discount codes it hands out run out. OptiMonk watches for these and tells you on the campaign's own page, with the fix attached.
Where to find campaign alerts
Open Campaigns in the left menu, click the campaign, and look at the strip above the campaign's panel. Each alert is one coloured row:
Red — the campaign is blocked; it cannot show up at all.
Amber — the campaign is running, but something about it is not right.
Alerts appear only on campaigns that have been switched on at least once — a campaign that has never run has nothing to be wrong with yet.
There is no separate alerts log and nothing to dismiss: each alert is derived from the live state of your account and disappears by itself as soon as the cause is gone. Re-check by reloading the campaign after you have made the fix.
The alerts and what to do about them
The OptiMonk code is not installed on your site, so this campaign cannot show up. (red)
The single most common cause of "my popup doesn't show". The whole row is clickable — it takes you to Finish installation, where you can pick your platform, copy the snippet and press Check now.
The campaign list shows the same problem on the card as a red Snippet not detected line, and the campaign header puts a warning icon next to the Active chip: Not showing until the code is installed.
This campaign is switched on, but it hasn't reached your site yet. (red)
That usually clears up within a minute — if it doesn't, switch the campaign off and on again.
The campaign is genuinely active in OptiMonk, but it is missing from the list your site loads. OptiMonk re-sends it automatically, so give it a minute before doing anything; switching the campaign off and on again forces a fresh push.
Your discount codes have run out — the campaign can't show a code. (red)
Your campaign hands out unique discount codes from a list you uploaded, and the list is empty. Click manage codes to open the coupon settings and upload more. This alert also appears when the campaign is set up for unique codes but no codes have been uploaded at all.
Your discount codes are almost gone (… left). (amber)
The same list is more than 80% used. The campaign still works; upload more codes before it stops being able to give one out.
Not an alert, but the same kind of problem: activation refusals
Some problems are caught before the campaign can go live at all. When you try to switch a campaign on, OptiMonk refuses and names the fix:
This campaign has no site yet.Add your website's domain in the campaign settings, then activate it again.
This campaign has no trigger, so it would never appear.Add a trigger (for example a 5-second delay) in the campaign settings, then activate it again.
Every version of this campaign is switched off, so there is nothing to show.Activate at least one version, then try again.
Restore this campaign from the archive before making it live.
You've reached your plan's active-campaign limit. / Your plan's active-site limit is full.
And two states simply take the switch away until they resolve: Under construction (You can switch the campaign on once the popup is built) and a live schedule (Managed by the schedule).
Checking the snippet yourself
You do not have to wait for an alert. Open the campaign's Insert code screen (or Install snippet from the sidebar) and click Check now — Checking loads your site once and looks for the code — it does not need visitors.
The answer is one of:
The OptiMonk code is live on {your domain}.
We looked at {your domain} and could not find the OptiMonk code yet. Make sure you saved your changes and the page is publicly reachable, then check again.
An OptiMonk code is on {your domain}, but it belongs to a different account. Replace it with the code above.
We could not reach {your domain} to check. This is on our side — try again in a moment.
What alerts do not cover
Alerts are a short, specific list — a missing snippet, a campaign that has not propagated, and an empty or nearly empty coupon pool. They do not check your targeting, your integrations or your product stock. If a campaign is healthy according to the alerts but still does not appear, work through Troubleshoot a campaign that isn't showing.
