Connecting SMSBump to your OptiMonk campaigns means the phone numbers your popups collect become SMSBump subscribers, so you can reach them with text messages about your promotions and news. SMSBump is a Shopify app, so this integration is only available for Shopify stores.
Where this is set up. SMSBump is tied to your Shopify store, and store-bound integrations cannot be newly connected from the new campaign builder's provider list. You connect and authorize the SMSBump account once in the classic admin; after that the connection is available to campaigns you build here, under Your connected accounts, where you bind the phone field.
Before you start:
SMSBump has to be installed in your Shopify store.
Your campaign's popup has to be built and it has to collect a phone number — the field mapping is read from the input fields of your popup. If your popup doesn't have one yet, ask the agent in the design chat for it ("add a phone number field") and let the popup rebuild.
Step 1 — Connect and authorize SMSBump in the classic admin
In OptiMonk, click your name at the bottom of the left-hand menu and choose Go to classic admin. You are signed in there with the same account.
Open a campaign and click Edit settings.
Click Add new integration under Add integration.
Select SMSBump from the list.
Give a name to your integration and click Authenticate.
You are redirected to SMSBump and have to log in to your account. Then you have to give OptiMonk permission to make requests to the SMSBump API on your behalf — click Yes.
The account connection is now stored on your OptiMonk account.
Step 2 — Bind the fields on a campaign built in the new app
Open Campaigns in the left menu and click your campaign.
Open the Integrations tab and click Add integration.
In the Provider step, look under Your connected accounts — your SMSBump connection is listed there, under the name you gave it. Click it. (SMSBump is not in the provider grid below; that grid only holds providers you can connect from here.)
In the Field mapping step, bind each popup field to an SMSBump field, then click Save integration.
SMSBump can only receive these fields:
Phone number — this is the one that matters: pick your popup's phone field on the left and map it to SMSBump's
phonefield.Name — first name and/or last name, if your popup collects them.
Email address — if your popup collects it.
Everything you don't want to forward stays on Don't sync. SMSBump does not accept fixed values, so the Static fields block is not offered for this provider.
Draft vs. live: if the campaign has not been published yet, the integration shows a Draft pill and the note Saved as draft — it goes live when you publish the campaign. On a published campaign it is applied right away and shows as Active.
Check your subscribers in SMSBump
Log into your Shopify account.
Click Apps.
Select SMSBump from the list of installed apps.
In SMSBump, select Lists & Segments on the left.
When you integrated OptiMonk with SMSBump, a list called Text Marketing List was auto-generated. That is where the subscribers from your OptiMonk campaign appear — click View to check them.
Check that leads actually arrive
You can also check this without leaving OptiMonk. Open Leads in the left menu: every submission has a Sync status column. Synced means the subscriber reached SMSBump; Integration issue means the forwarding failed. Click the row for the reason (Account issue, Field mapping issue, Invalid phone number, Already unsubscribed…) and press Retry once you fixed the settings.
